Biography
Kateryna Ivonina was born in 1976 in Minsk (Belarus). There she attended an artistic school for 8 years. In 1991, Kateryna and her family moved to Kharkiv (Ukraine). There she graduated from the Higher Vocational School No. 20, with a degree in "Restoration of decorative trim and stucco work". Then she graduated from Kharkiv National University of Construction and Architecture with a degree in Architectural Environment Design. During her studies, Kateryna had an internship at the Design-Centre company.
Since 2000, Kateryna has been working in the "Bondarenko Group" design-studio, and in 2002 she became a partner of this studio for the next eleven years. At the same time, many projects of public and residential interiors have been implemented, several of which have been awarded in Ukrainian competitions.
In 2013, while working as an independent interior designer, Kateryna became also a practicing artist. During this time she participated in several solo and over twenty group exhibitions in Ukraine, Slovakia, England, Austria and also became a member of the European Association of Artists "ARTE". Since 2017, she has been a member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine. Her paintings have won many awards in several foreign competitions.
At the end of 2021, Kateryna moved to the USA, where she plans to focus on artistic practice, art projects and research on topics that concern her.
For 2022–23, her painting took part in charity exhibitions and events aimed at helping Ukraine and the homeless in Atlanta, USA.
